The Special Monthly offering for the Deacon’s Fund will be taken at the door on April 26, 2015

Question: What is the deacon's fund?

Answer: The deacon's fund is a discrete fund (separate from the annual budget) that is used to help church members in their time of need.

Question: Why do we have a deacon's fund?

Answer: The New Testament church had great needs, especially when people made a statement of faith in Jesus and were cast out of their families. It was also used to help the widowed and orphaned. Times have changed; however, we still have needs at times in our lives that we are not able to meet. As believers and followers of Jesus, we are commanded to love and care for each other.

Question: How do I access the deacon's fund?

Answer: You would approach a deacon or elder and let them know of your circumstance and that you have a need for the fund.

Question: Who will know about my need? Asking for money makes me feel embarrassed or judged.

Answer: The only people who need to know about a request are the people who are involved. The By-laws state that at least 2 deacons are to be involved in the process. We understand the sensitive nature and emotions involved when in a needy situation. With that said, what an opportunity to have God work in our church body by using His people to help each other in a time of need.

Question: How do I give to the deacon's fund?

Answer: You could give by writing a check or placing money in the envelope, specifically for the deacon's fund. The Deacons also receives donations at the Sanctuary door on a designated Sunday of each month for deposit into the Deacon’s Fund.
